- I'm researching the Garee family. From what I know the Jacob
Garee brought his family to Ravenna around 1845. I do not know his
wife's name. His children were: Susan John Rhoda Francis Albert
"Frank" Jennie Eliza Only Susan and John remained in Ohio when the
rest of the family moved to Missouri. I know plenty about the kids
who moved away but need to know about the two who remained in Ohio.
John served in the Co. G 7th Reg. Ohio Volunteer and enlisted at
Ravenna. Family tradition states that he was wounded and was sent to
Washington, DC where he worked and was in the theatre at the time
Abraham Lincoln was shot. About 1866 he came back to Ravenna and
married Ellen Gary (I think). I know of only one child they had:
Irene C. who married A.L. Whisler. Susan Garee married William Force
and so the family tradition states raised her family in Ravenna. If
you can assist with any information on the Garee family I would
really appreciate the leads.

restaurant owned by Mary Jane Bullock/Purrington/Brinkhoff/Wennick.
It was still going during the mid 1930's. I have a picture of my
father as a young boy standing on the porch. It was a corner lot. I
would like an actual physical address so I can visit the site when I
am in the town this summer. Can anyone help with any information
that they have on this place? Thanks for any help that you can give.

- I and many others have been searching for Jacob Blair ancestors.
I recently came across a JACOB BLAIR in the history of Aurora. He is
listed as a landowner and it appears that would be in the very early
1800's, exactly the time frame our elusive Jacob disappears from
Bedford Co. PA. Anyone researching the BLAIR's? Can anyone tell me
anything about this Jacob Blair? Thanks John Blair
