SHARPNACK, WHITACRE I am looking for information about my Greatgrandfather Frank N. Whitacre and GGreatgrandfather John H. Sharpnack. Frank died about 1895 leaving his wife Mary Elizabeth Sharpnack Whitacre and 3 small children in Portage County. The 1900 census shows Mary and her Father John Sharpnack living in the same house without Frank. Frank was born 1860 in unknown location and John was born April, 1833 in Pennsylvania. I'm researching a Benjamin GREEN that appears in the 1840 Ohio Census in Portage Co. The one I'm looking for was born about 1800 in Connecticut and married Louisa PHILLIPS, also from Connecticut. Children of Benjamin born in Ohio include: Benjamin Jr, John Wesley, Elias, Miranda, and Jasper. Any help would be appreciated.

DEWITT, Minerva, Bessie B. Bessie LEE was only child born in Ohio (abt 1859-60), the rest were born in Pottstown and Reading, PA.

MAY, KOHLER, CUMMINGS, ADELHART, STAAB. Do you have any Adelhart’s, Staabs, Cummings, or Kohlers? I have Anna Marie Adelhart, b 26 Feb 1867,daughter of John Adelhart and Elizabetha Staab. I have no other information on them other than Annie married my g grandfather, George Gregory May, in Taylorville, Christian Co, IL in 1889. Annie and George settled in Shelby Co, IL. Meanwhile, my other g grandfather, John Peter May, married Rosa Mary Cummings in 1894 in Shelby Co, IL. Rosa’s parents are Anthony Kohler and Barbara Cummings. I have do birth date’s or place of birth for these three. John Peter May’s mother was Matilda Kohler, who was born in 1839 in Portage Co, OH-so Anthony could have been related to her-but I do not know any more about her either. Please contact me if you are researching this family of Ravenna, OH. Andrew WILLSON (1835-1911), a Universal Church minister born in Crawford County, PA, m. Francis A. DOTY (-1863) in 1858, then m. Sara N. STURTEVANT in 1862. Andrew was son of Hugh WILLSON & Hannah ALLEN of Crawford County, PA. Francis was daughter of Horace S. DOTY and Lucy M. BASSET, granddaughter of David DOTY, Jr., and Betsy HOLLISTER, his 1st wife, and great granddaughter of David DOTY and Hannah SOUTHARD. David DOTY, born 1741 in Wareham, MA and died 1817 in Sharon, CT, was a lieutenant of Burral's Connecticut regiment in 1776, was appointed wagon master general of Gates' army.

Hi, I am looking for Rowland (Roland) JONES. He was in the county in 1840 and again in 1850 for several years. He was born in Wales in 1797. His wife was Hannah JONES (yes,that is her maiden name) I am especially looking for church records. In PA they were Presbyterians but may have been Methodist in OH. I am not sure. Married Esther ISAACKS Feb. 14, 1802 in Dalton, MA. Esther ISAACKS was born in MA 1783. Am looking for place and date of death for Esther ISAACKS. Thought to be buried in Kent, OH. William Royal CONVERSE buried in Stow St. Cemetery. Also need date William Royal CONVERSE purchased land in Portage County.
